Trabzonspor Eye Loan Move for Super Eagles Striker Tolu Arokodare

By Okiki Oluwasegun

Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor are reportedly considering a move for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare as they continue preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

The club is searching for a new attacking option after the exit of Felipe Augusto, who recently completed a transfer to Russian outfit Zenit St. Petersburg.

With that departure creating a vacancy in attack, Arokodare has emerged as one of the players being monitored by the Turkish side.

Reports from Turkey indicate that Trabzonspor are exploring the possibility of bringing the Nigerian international to the club on a season-long loan deal.

Discussions are still at an early stage, but the striker is said to be among the leading candidates on the club’s shortlist.

Arokodare’s future has been the subject of speculation following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ relegation from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old is believed to be open to a fresh challenge that would allow him to play regularly at the highest possible level.

The Nigerian forward joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk last summer and featured consistently throughout the season.

Although he found the net seven times and registered two assists in all competitions, the campaign ended in disappointment as the club failed to avoid relegation.

Trabzonspor believe Arokodare’s physical strength, ability in the air and experience in European football could strengthen their attacking department ahead of the new season.

If the move is completed, the Super Eagles star would become one of the latest Nigerian footballers to feature in the Turkish top flight, where several compatriots have enjoyed successful careers over the years.
