NPP Treasurer Aspirant pledges emergency fund to support party activities

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Treasurer aspirant, Damba Abdul Rauf, has pledged to establish an emergency fund for the party in the Northern Region to support its activities and address urgent financial needs.
Speaking in an interview with Northstar FM’s Chief, Mr. Damba Abdul Rauf, monitored by ModernGhana, said the proposed emergency fund would provide timely financial assistance to the party, particularly when there is an urgent need to mobilise resources for programmes and other organisational activities.
He said that if elected, he would also encourage and work with all constituencies in the region to establish similar emergency funds at the constituency level.
According to him, the constituency-level funds would enable the party to mobilise resources from parliamentary aspirants, local financiers, sympathisers, and other stakeholders to support party activities.
He explained that such a funding structure would reduce the overdependence on the regional office for financial support and allow constituencies to respond promptly to their own needs.
Mr. Damba Abdul Rauf said the initiative would ensure that constituencies have resources readily available to support meetings, grassroots mobilisation, organisational programmes, and other urgent activities without having to wait for assistance from the regional leadership.
He stressed that the proposed system would require transparency and accountability to ensure that monies raised at both the regional and constituency levels are properly managed and used for their intended purposes.
The NPP Northern Regional Treasurer aspirant said his vision is to build a financially strong and responsive party structure where both the regional and constituency offices have the capacity to support their activities in a timely manner.
He believes the establishment of emergency funds across the region would strengthen the party’s financial base, improve coordination, and enhance the ability of the NPP to respond quickly to the needs of its structures and members.
