England midfielder Morgan Rogers has admitted that keeping Erling Haaland quiet will be one of the toughest challenges his team has faced as they prepare for their FIFA World Cup quarter-final clash against Norway.

Haaland has been one of the tournament’s standout performers, scoring seven goals to help Norway reach the last eight.

His remarkable goalscoring record and physical presence have made him one of the biggest threats remaining in the competition, leaving England determined to limit his influence.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Rogers acknowledged the difficulty of facing the Manchester City striker, joking that very few teams have successfully stopped him.

He explained that England’s approach would be to cut off the supply of passes reaching Haaland rather than allowing him opportunities inside the penalty area, where he is at his most dangerous.

The Aston Villa midfielder also highlighted the quality within Norway’s squad, pointing to Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard as another player capable of deciding the match.

Rogers stressed that England must remain alert throughout the contest because Norway possess several match-winners.

England head into the fixture full of confidence after their dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico in the Round of 16 despite playing with ten men for part of the game.

Rogers described the win as exhausting but believes it has strengthened the team’s belief ahead of another high-pressure encounter.

He also welcomed the return of experienced midfielder Jordan Henderson, who recently underwent surgery following an injury celebration incident.

According to Rogers, Henderson’s positive attitude continues to inspire the squad.

England will now aim to book a place in the World Cup semi-finals by overcoming a confident Norway side led by the prolific Haaland.
