Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has pledged to raise his game ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, insisting he is determined to prove his worth to supporters.

The 34-year-old shot-stopper enjoyed a remarkable run with the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, where he featured prominently for Ghana during the tournament.

Asare, who earned a place in the final squad, started in goal for the Black Stars in their group-stage matches against Panama, England and Croatia, delivering impressive performances on the global stage.

Speaking to the media, the former Great Olympics goalkeeper said he is motivated to continue improving and show that he still has more to offer.

“This is the time to prove to Ghanaians that I can do it,” he said.

“Once it is my job, I must prove it anywhere because of the love and the way they cheer me. As at now, expect more from me [next season],” Asare added.

Asare is expected to play a key role as Hearts of Oak begin their campaign in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season, with the Phobians set to face Berekum Chelsea in their opening fixture.

His performances could also earn him another call-up to the Black Stars squad for Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for September.
