The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has called on supporters of the All Progressives Congress to kill members of the Accord Party ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Fadahunsi, a chieftain of the APC in the state, made the remarks in Yoruba while addressing party supporters in Ilesa.

In the video, the senator was heard warning APC supporters to attack Accord Party members who might be seen in the area before the August 15 election.

“If we hear of Accord Party again in Ilesa here for the election coming up on Saturday, you can record me and say it anywhere,” he said.

Fadahunsi also made derogatory remarks about members of the Accord Party and questioned supporters about alleged killings involving APC members.

“We have told you before that their cap looks jaundiced and they belong to animals. How many persons have APC supporters killed?” he asked.

“How many people have you seen APC killed or aren’t your people killed?”

The senator then issued a direct threat against Accord Party members, saying, “So we are here now to tell you that till the day of the election, if we see any Accord Party members, we’ll kill them.

“We cannot be watching.”
He further warned that Accord Party members would not be allowed to exercise their franchise during the election, even if they possessed valid Permanent Voter Cards.

According to him, “even if Accord Party members with PVCs want to vote on Saturday,” they would be prevented from doing so.

Fadahunsi also extended his threats to traditional chiefs whom he accused of supporting the Accord Party.

He warned that Ijesa land would not accommodate chiefs allegedly allowing themselves to be used by the opposition party.

“We had taken Ijesa with levity before but now it’s time to let the Owa of Obokun know that he is the king of Obokun not APC or Accord but if some of his chiefs allow themselves to be used, Ijesa Land will not contain them,” he said.

“Henceforth, it is an eye for an eye or an eye for anything.”

The senator further threatened chiefs who allegedly harbour Accord Party supporters, warning that they could face violent consequences.

The remarks come against the backdrop of heightened political activities and concerns over potential violence, intimidation and voter suppression ahead of the Osun governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
