Nicolas Jackson has completed a move to Aston Villa, bringing an end to his three-year spell at Chelsea and marking a fresh chapter for the striker at Villa Park.

The Senegalese forward joined the Blues for £30million and leaves having built a solid case for himself in west London, racking up 81 appearances across his three seasons at Stamford Bridge.

During that spell, Jackson found the net 30 times and contributed a further 12 assists, taking his overall goal involvement tally to 42, numbers that reflect a player who consistently made an impact whenever called upon.

Villa have confirmed the striker’s arrival, with the club expressing delight at reuniting with the forward, this time in claret and blue rather than Chelsea blue.

The move represents a reunion of sorts, suggesting prior ties between Jackson and the Villa setup, and adds firepower to a Villa attack looking to strengthen its options going into the new campaign.

For Chelsea, Jackson’s exit closes out a period in which he established himself as a regular feature of the squad, even if his tenure wasn’t without its share of scrutiny given the price tag attached to his signing.
