It means everything to me – Ibrahim Danlad after returning to Asante Kotoko ahead of 2026/27 GPL season
Asante Kotoko have re-signed goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, bringing the former club captain back two years after his departure.
The 24-year-old returns after a spell with Ethiopian side Coffee SC, where he kept 28 clean sheets in more than 55 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Danlad said returning to Kotoko felt like unfinished business.
“I am very excited to be back here again, even though I left two years ago, but I always felt that the story had to continue,” Danlad said.
“To have another chance of playing for Asante Kotoko once again means everything to me and my family because the club has played a truly special role in my life,” he added.
Danlad first joined Kotoko in 2016 as a teenager and made his Ghana Premier League debut in a 2-0 away victory over Aduana FC during the club’s 2021/22 title-winning campaign.
His performances for the Porcupine Warriors also earned him a place in Otto Addo’s Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Kotoko will hope Danlad’s return strengthens their squad as they prepare for the new domestic season under coach Eric Tinkler.
