Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has approved the appointment of six new Permanent Secretaries into the state’s civil service as part of efforts to strengthen the administration and improve public service delivery.

The appointments were announced in a statement signed by the Rivers State Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Inyingi Brown.

According to the statement, those appointed include Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, Mrs. Fortune Akpila, Dr. Promise Oguzie, Mrs. Ibisoye Lolomari Nwankwo, Mrs. Ibiyemiebara Joseph Uzoma and Mrs. Mercy Dagogo Iboroma.

The Head of Service disclosed that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries will be formally sworn into office by the governor at noon on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.

Permanent Secretaries are the highest-ranking career civil servants in government ministries and play a key role in implementing government policies, coordinating administrative functions and ensuring continuity in the public service.
