The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026 is set to reach millions of viewers across the globe, with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) securing an extensive network of international and regional broadcasters for the continent’s flagship women’s football tournament.

The competition gets underway on Sunday, July 26, in Rabat, where Algeria will take on Senegal in the opening fixture at 18:00 local time (17:00 GMT). Hosts Morocco will then face Kenya later in the evening at 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT).

Among the major broadcasters carrying the tournament are CAF’s long-standing partner beIN Sport, the United Kingdom’s Channel 4, DAZN across parts of Europe, Ziggo, and CANAL+ for French-speaking African territories.

CAF has also partnered with several leading African broadcasters to ensure widespread access to the tournament. Morocco’s SNRT, South Africa’s SABC, AZAM Media for parts of East Africa, including Tanzania, and BBC Radio for selected Sub-Saharan African territories are all set to provide coverage.

More than 18 free-to-air broadcasters will also televise the competition, expanding the tournament’s reach across the continent. These include Kenya’s KBC, Nigeria’s AfroSport, Ghana’s MaxTV, Côte d’Ivoire’s RTi, Cape Verde’s RTCV, Zambia’s ZNBC and Burkina Faso’s RTB.

This year’s edition marks a significant milestone for women’s football in Africa, with the tournament expanded from 12 to 16 participating nations. CAF has also increased the winner’s prize money to a record USD 2 million, underlining its commitment to growing the women’s game on the continent.

The 2026 edition will also break new ground in broadcasting. For the first time, football fans in the United Kingdom will be able to watch WAFCON live through Channel 4 following its partnership with CAF. Likewise, DAZN has secured the rights to broadcast the tournament for the first time in Germany and neighbouring territories.

Meanwhile, beIN Sport will continue to deliver comprehensive coverage across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), while CANAL+ will broadcast matches in several French-speaking countries across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The expanded tournament features 16 teams divided into four groups.

• Group A: Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, Kenya
• Group B: South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Tanzania
• Group C: Nigeria, Zambia, Egypt, Malawi
• Group D: Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Cape Verde

With increased global television coverage, expanded participation and record prize money, the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 is expected to be the biggest and most widely watched edition in the tournament’s history.
