Gift Orban Close to Joining Turkish Side Amedspor on Loan
Nigerian forward Gift Orban is reportedly nearing a move to Turkish Süper Lig newcomers Amedspor, with the striker expected to spend the 2026/27 campaign at the club on a season-long loan from German side TSG Hoffenheim.
Reports indicate that negotiations between the two clubs have reached an advanced stage, with all parties agreeing to a deal that includes an option for Amedspor to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season if the move proves successful.
The 24-year-old is expected to travel to Turkey to complete the remaining formalities, including a medical examination and the signing of his contract.
Under the agreement, Amedspor will reportedly take responsibility for Orban’s wages throughout the loan spell.
The move comes after Orban’s temporary stay with Italian club Hellas Verona last season. Despite producing several impressive performances, the Serie A outfit decided not to activate the clause that would have secured his services permanently.
During his time in Italy, the Nigerian attacker scored seven league goals and also contributed two assists.
Since beginning his European career, Orban has featured in multiple leagues, including Norway, Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy, earning a reputation for his pace, finishing ability, and direct attacking style.
For Amedspor, signing a player with Orban’s experience would represent a significant boost ahead of their debut campaign in the Turkish top flight. The club secured promotion to the Süper Lig for the first time in its history and is looking to strengthen its squad as it prepares for the challenge of competing against Turkey’s elite clubs.
If the deal is completed as expected, Orban will be hoping for a fresh start and the opportunity to rediscover the form that made him one of Nigeria’s most exciting young forwards.
