Ancient and medieval kings ordered their soldiers to fight for revenge, new territory, and to solve internal problems. Macedonian king Alexander the Great fought on the front lines side by side with his soldiers against Achaemenid king Dareios III; against an army which knew the territory much better than him and was larger in number. Yet, he was given the title „The Great“ in history for his bravery, readiness to stand by his men and put his life on the line, leading the Greeks to victory after victory.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky were seen at the Russian-Ukraine front line. UK Prince Harry fought undercover in Afghanistan. Prime Minister of Israel was at the front line in Gaza to demonstrate solidarity with the soldiers of the IDF.

Ghana`s presidents of NPP and NDC, behind open microphones, declare the fight against galamsey, illegal small-scale mining. They order the military to combat the illegal miners who sometimes take to weapons to make their voice heard loud and clear. Most illegal miners, though, are not armed, and when arrested by soldiers, get handcuffed without further serious resistance.
