Chelsea have opened negotiations with Monaco over a potential deal for midfielder Lamine Camara, with talks reportedly taking place tonight as the Blues push to get an agreement over the line.

The west London club are said to be ready to table an offer in the region of £51million for the Senegalese international, who has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting young talents since arriving at the Stade Louis II from Metz in 2024.

Sources close to the negotiations indicate that both parties are working with urgency, with hopes of wrapping up the transfer within the next 48 hours should discussions progress smoothly.

The 22-year-old has drawn admiration across Europe for his tenacity, range of passing, and defensive discipline, attributes that have seen him likened to Chelsea legend N’Golo Kante.

Should the move materialise, Camara would be expected to step into the role currently occupied by Enzo Fernandez, with the Argentine potentially making way as Chelsea reshapes its midfield options.
