The qualification race for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup is taking shape, with 18 nations already guaranteed places at the tournament scheduled to take place in Brazil.

The competition will feature 32 teams, meaning 14 spots are still available as qualification campaigns continue across the various confederations.

Africa currently has four representatives, with Algeria, Cameroon, Malawi and Morocco securing their tickets.

Their qualification adds to the growing presence of African nations on the international women’s football stage.

Asia has completed its allocation, with Australia, China, Japan, North Korea, the Philippines and South Korea all booking their places.

The Philippines’ qualification represents another important step in the development of its women’s national team.

Four European nations have also qualified so far. Denmark, France, Germany and Spain will represent Europe, although seven more places from the continent are still to be decided.

New Zealand has claimed Oceania’s only direct qualification spot, ensuring the region will once again be represented at the global tournament.

South America has three confirmed teams. Argentina and Colombia qualified through the regional process, while Brazil automatically secured its place as the host nation.

With 18 teams already confirmed, attention now turns to the remaining qualification battles. CONCACAF has four direct slots still available, while three additional teams will qualify through an inter-confederation playoff route.

The 2027 tournament is expected to bring together established football powers and emerging teams as women’s football continues to expand globally. Brazil will host the competition from June 24 to July 25, 2027.
