The talks are understood to be at an early stage, and details about the character or the nature of the role have yet to be disclosed. If the deal goes ahead, it would mark Meghan’s first major acting role since she married Prince Harry in 2018.

Created by Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen stars Theo James and follows an aristocrat who becomes involved in the illegal drug trade. The first two seasons were filmed largely in the Cotswolds, an area where Harry and Meghan are reportedly considering establishing a UK base.

Hugh Bonneville and Vinnie Jones are among the actors who have appeared in previous seasons of the series.

Meghan rose to international fame through the US legal drama Suits, in which she portrayed lawyer Rachel Zane for seven seasons. Her final episode aired in 2018, shortly before her marriage to Prince Harry.

She subsequently stepped away from acting following her wedding and relocation into royal life. At the time, Meghan told the BBC that leaving the profession was not a sacrifice but “a new chapter” in her life.

The Duchess has recently made a small return to the screen, appearing as herself in the forthcoming comedy Close Personal Friends, which stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson.

A full-time acting comeback could provide another major source of income for Meghan as she prepares to spend more time in the UK.

The reported acting discussions come as Harry and Meghan prepare to relocate to Britain later this month.

According to the BBC, the couple intend to move from the United States to a private, non-royal property outside London. Their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are also expected to begin attending a British school in September.

There are currently no plans for either Harry or Meghan to return as working members of the Royal Family.

Their planned move follows a family visit in July, when the couple and their children met King Charles III at his Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire. It was reportedly the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in person in more than four years and marked Harry and Meghan’s first joint UK visit since 2022.

The Sussexes’ planned return to Britain is also expected to reignite discussions about their security arrangements.

Their level of publicly funded security was reduced after they stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the US, where they have largely funded their own protection.

The Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec), an independent body overseen by the Home Office, is expected to review the couple’s security arrangements.

The previous decision was made on the basis that Harry and Meghan would not be permanent UK residents, meaning their proposed relocation could prompt a fresh assessment of their security needs.
