Nigerian international Zaidu Sanusi could be on his way out of FC Porto this summer, with Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah emerging as serious suitors for the defender’s signature.

The left-back finds himself entering the final year of his current deal at the Portuguese champions, and efforts to hammer out a fresh two-year extension have reportedly hit a snag, with the two parties unable to see eye to eye on wage terms.

Behind the scenes, representatives from Al-Qadsiah have been in contact with Porto officials over the past day or so, working to thrash out the framework of a possible switch.

For their part, the Portuguese side appear willing to let their Nigerian defender depart, with reports suggesting they’ve set his price tag at around €10 million.

Sanusi’s journey with Porto began back in August 2020 when he arrived from Santa Clara, and he has since carved out a regular role within the squad, becoming a dependable presence in defense.

His trophy cabinet has grown steadily during his time at the club, with eight domestic titles collected along the way.

This isn’t the first time the 29-year-old’s name has surfaced in transfer speculation beyond Portugal’s borders he has previously drawn interest from Italian side Atalanta as well as Championship club Leeds United, though neither move materialized.

Whether this latest interest from Saudi Arabia leads to a completed transfer remains to be seen as the window edges toward its close.
