Three people, including the wife of a renowned herbalist, have been arrested in connection with a suspected arson incident at Kasoa in the Central Region that resulted in the death of 67-year-old Dr Felix Antwi Dankwa.

Dr Antwi Dankwa, Chief Executive Officer of Antwi Herbal, died after fire engulfed his residence, which also served as a clinic, on the night of Monday, August 10, 2026.

Three other occupants of the building, including Dr Antwi Dankwa’s wife, managed to escape the fire without injuries.

Although the deceased’s family has yet to officially comment on the incident, a source close to Dr Antwi Dankwa said he had recently been involved in a marital dispute with his wife, who lived abroad.

The source disclosed that the couple had reported to the Kasoa District Police Command on Monday, August 10, following allegations that the wife had changed the ownership details of some of Dr Antwi Dankwa’s assets.

According to the source, the disagreement between the two escalated into a brief altercation at the police station. The police subsequently cautioned them and directed them to appear before a court on Tuesday, August 11.

Investigators are reportedly examining the possibility that Dr Antwi Dankwa was murdered before the building was deliberately set ablaze in an attempt to conceal the alleged crime.

Following a visit to the scene, police officers arrested the herbalist’s wife and two workers who also resided at the property to assist with investigations.

Dr Antwi Dankwa was recently recognised by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for his contribution and partnership in the promotion of herbal medicine.
