VIDEO You have disgraced us – ZITO’s blistering charge against Akufo-Addo appointees

TUE, 11 AUG 2026

Social commentator and political analyst, Mr Adu Boampong Augustine, known widely as ZITO, has advised the leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stage massive demonstrations against former President Nana Akufo-Addo’s appointees who engaged in corruption.

According to him, the demonstration should target only the appointees under Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration who engaged in corruption.

Commenting on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) “Democracy Under Attack” demonstration on Thursday, August 6, ZITO said, “How can one demonstrate in a country where democracy is under attack?”

Speaking in an interview with Ambassador TV host Osei Kwadwo, monitored by Mynewsgh.com, ZITO emphasized that the leadership of the NPP should focus on how to win the trust of Ghanaians, especially floating voters.

“The best demonstration NPP leaders should organize to win Ghanaians’ trust is to demonstrate against corrupt appointees under Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration. They should name it ‘You Have Disgraced NPP’ Demo,” ZITO said.

He added, “The majority of Ghanaians voted against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP in the 2024 elections because of the numerous corruption allegations, because Ghanaians have realized that corruption is destroying this country.”

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) was expected to stage its “Democracy Under Attack” demonstration on Thursday, August 6, in what the party says is a call to defend the rule of law, constitutional governance, and democratic accountability.

The demonstration forms part of the NPP’s campaign against what it describes as growing acts of political persecution, selective justice, and the abuse of state institutions under the current administration.
