Tunisia have turned to experienced tactician Moine Chaabani in a bid to rebuild their national team following a disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign that ended without a single victory.

The Tunisian Football Federation officially announced the appointment of the 45-year-old coach, confirming he has signed a four-year contract to lead the Carthage Eagles into a new era.

His arrival follows months of uncertainty and frequent managerial changes that have disrupted the team’s progress.

Chaabani is widely respected in African football after enjoying remarkable success with Esperance Tunis, where he guided the club to two CAF Champions League titles and five domestic league crowns.

His coaching journey also took him to Egypt before a successful spell in Morocco with RS Berkane, whom he led to a league championship.

His appointment comes after Tunisia endured a disastrous World Cup campaign. The North Africans lost all three group-stage matches despite making encouraging progress during the qualification series.
