Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has completed a season-long loan move to Dutch powerhouse AFC Ajax from Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., marking another important chapter in his European career.

The Eredivisie side confirmed that the agreement will keep the Nigerian forward in Amsterdam until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

Ajax also negotiated an option to make the transfer permanent once the loan expires, giving the club flexibility if the striker impresses during the season.

As part of the deal, Ajax will cover the player’s wages throughout the loan spell, underlining their confidence in his ability to strengthen the squad ahead of the new campaign.

The move offers Arokodare an opportunity to revive his career after finding playing time limited following his switch to Wolves.

Before joining the Premier League club, the 25-year-old attracted attention with his goalscoring exploits in Belgium, where he established himself as one of the league’s most dangerous attackers.

Ajax’s technical leadership welcomed the arrival of the Nigerian international, highlighting his physical presence, aerial ability and eye for goal as qualities that will add a different dimension to the team’s attack.

Arokodare began his professional journey with Latvian club Valmiera before moving through Germany and France, eventually enjoying a successful spell with Belgian side KRC Genk.

His impressive performances there earned him recognition as one of Belgium’s top strikers and paved the way for his move to England.

Now back in Dutch football, Arokodare will hope regular playing time at Ajax helps him rediscover his best form while boosting his chances of becoming a consistent figure for Nigeria’s national team.
