Antoine Semenyo played a decisive part as Manchester City overturned an early deficit to defeat Atletico Madrid 3-1 in a pre-season encounter in Seoul.

City struggled to find their rhythm in the opening half and were punished before the interval. A corner from Koke created danger in the box, and after Morten Hjulmand kept the move alive, young Atletico forward Jorge Dominguez found the net to give the Spanish side the advantage.

Manchester City returned from the break with greater urgency and quickly changed the direction of the contest.

Omar Marmoush restored parity in the 57th minute after Semenyo produced an impressive run on the left before sending a low ball across the area for the Egyptian striker to finish.

The pair combined again shortly afterwards. Semenyo once more created room on the flank and delivered another dangerous cross, allowing Marmoush to score his second goal and complete City’s turnaround.

Atletico had a chance to respond when Lee Kang-in entered the game, but the South Korean midfielder narrowly missed an opportunity inside the penalty area.

City eventually secured the victory in added time. Rayan Ait-Nouri received a pass from Divin Mubama and calmly finished into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.

The result gave City their second victory of the Asian pre-season tour. They will now prepare for their Community Shield clash with Arsenal on August 16.
