Banjul – Charity foundation of philanthropist and traditional ruler HRH Prince Ebrahim called Prince Ebrahim Future Africa Foundation earlier today made an open commitment to providing free sanitary pads to underprivileged girls and women in The Gambia.

Menstrual hygiene management, including access to sanitary pads, can be a challenge for girls in many low-income countries, including The Gambia. Lack of access to affordable and hygienic menstrual products can have significant implications for girls’ health, education, and overall well-being.

The free sanitary pads initiative was unveiled in an MOU signing ceremony with the student Union of University of The Gambia through which the NGO will provide the free sanitary pads.

The speaker on behalf of the union, expressed praise for the foundation of Prince Ebrahim for taking the bold step to sponsor the initiative after other bodies disappointed them with their promises and pledges.

Speaking with a representative from Prince Ebrahim Future Africa Foundation, they further stated that, the foundation will continue to work towards addressing challenges like these by providing menstrual hygiene support and education in underserved communities.
