President Mahama begins two-day working tour of Upper East Region

THU, 13 AUG 2026

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the Upper East Region to begin a two-day working tour, with an inspection of the ongoing Bolgatanga Airport Project as his first engagement.

The airport project is being developed with a proposed 2,000-metre runway designed to support regional domestic and commercial flights. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.

As part of the tour, President Mahama will also commission an E-Block school project at Paga and inspect ongoing works on the Chuchuliga-Sandema Road.

The road project forms part of the partial reconstruction of the 34.23-kilometre Navrongo-Chuchuliga-Tumu road corridor under the government’s Big Push Programme.

The President’s visit is part of his nationwide Resetting Ghana Tour, which has so far taken him to six of the country’s 16 regions. The Upper East Region is the seventh stop on the tour.
