Oliver Glasner Lands Nottingham Forest Job After Palace Exit
Nottingham Forest have appointed Oliver Glasner as their new head coach, with the Austrian taking charge ahead of the 2026/27 season following his departure from Crystal Palace.
The 51-year-old replaces Vitor Pereira, whose spell at the City Ground ended last week, becoming Forest’s fifth managerial appointment in the past year as the club continues its search for stability.
Glasner arrives with an impressive pedigree after enjoying a successful stint at Crystal Palace. During his time at Selhurst Park, he guided the Eagles to their first major trophy by winning the 2025 FA Cup, before leading the club to UEFA Conference League success in his final season.
Speaking after his appointment, Glasner said he was excited by the opportunity to lead one of England’s most historic clubs.
He praised Forest’s long-term vision and expressed confidence that the club can build a competitive team capable of challenging at a higher level in the coming years.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis also welcomed the appointment, describing Glasner as a manager with a proven record of building successful teams.
He added that both parties share the ambition of helping the club compete consistently for major honours.
Before moving to England, Glasner earned widespread recognition after steering German side Eintracht Frankfurt to the UEFA Europa League title during the 2021/22 campaign.
Forest finished 16th in the Premier League last season, narrowly avoiding relegation. Club officials believe Glasner’s experience, tactical approach and winning mentality can help transform the team’s fortunes as they prepare for another demanding campaign in the English top flight.
