Ogbomoso Elders Denounce Fake Agency Suspect “Prince Adeyemi” Over ₦1.3bn Fraud, Strip Him Of Royal Title

By Kingsley Ike

Prominent Ogbomoso elders and leaders have strongly distanced themselves from Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew , officially stripping him of his claimed royal title and condemning his involvement in the massive ₦1.3 billion “ghost agency” scandal. In a joint statement, the community leaders declared that his self-styled princely moniker has no basis in their traditional ruling houses and explicitly cleared the ancient town of any affiliation with his allegedly fraudulent activities. By repudiating the suspect, the council aimed to protect Ogbomoso’s reputation for integrity while federal authorities proceed with his criminal prosecution in Abuja.

The Ogbomoso Integrity Forum has labeled Adeniyi Adeyemi a serial impostor following an emergency meeting called to address his involvement in the ₦1.3 billion “ghost agency” scandal. In a joint statement co-signed by Chief Alao Adelabu Adeyinka and Prince Olatubosun Adeniyi, the community representatives explicitly stated that Adeyemi has a long history of fraudulent activities and holds no recognized royal title within the ancient town’s ruling houses.

Condemning his actions as a disgrace to the hardworking and honest people of the community, the elders completely washed their hands of the suspect. They have formally called on federal law enforcement authorities to prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law to ensure justice is served and the town’s reputation is protected.

National outrage continues to grow over shocking allegations that Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew forged official State House documents. Investigators reveal he used these falsified credentials to pose as the Director-General of two entirely non-existent federal entities: the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council.

Official police and Presidency reports state that Adeyemi successfully infiltrated the government by operating a fraudulent office within Abuja’s Federal Secretariat Complex for over a year. During this time, he hosted foreign diplomats, manipulated the system to secure billions of naira in budget allocations, and maintained dozens of fraudulent bank accounts under fake agency names. Following his arrest, he now faces multiple federal charges, including forgery, impersonation, and criminal conspiracy.

The Ogbomoso Integrity Forum denied viral reports linking Adeyemi to Ogbomoso and claimed that he had previously interacted with local monarchs.

In a decisive public statement , the elders and custodians of Ogbomoso’s rich cultural heritage unequivocally disowned Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew regarding his involvement in the shameful fake agency scandal. The community leaders expressed deep regret that his fraudulent actions have brought unnecessary public scrutiny to their peaceful and historic community.

The council firmly declared that individuals like Adeyemi have hidden behind unverified traditional titles for far too long to perpetrate deceit. They clarified that the suspect is completely unknown to their heritage systems, stating categorically that he is not—and has never been—a recognized prince in any of the ruling houses of Ogbomoso.

“Our royal traditions are sacred and not for impostors to exploit for personal gain. His track record of fraud stretches back years, including previous scams involving fake international youth organisations where he duped unsuspecting Nigerians with promises of summits and appointments.

“We urge the federal authorities to thoroughly investigate all his past dealings and ensure justice is served without fear or favour. Ogbomoso remains a land of honest, God-fearing people committed to national development, and we will not allow one bad apple to tarnish our collective image.”

The Forum highlighted Adeyemi’s history of controversy. “This latest scandal is not an isolated incident but part of a pattern,” added the statement.

“The people of Ogbomoso are known for integrity, industry, and respect for constituted authority, values that Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew has repeatedly undermined through his actions.

“We reject any association with him and his so-called princely status, which has no basis in our traditional chieftaincy system or royal lineages. Such false claims only serve to mock the genuine efforts of our kings and chiefs in promoting peace and progress.

“It is disheartening that someone from our soil would go to such lengths to deceive high government officials, diplomats, and even secure space in the Federal Secretariat with forged letters.

“We call on all indigenes at home and abroad to remain vigilant against fraudsters who drag our name through the mud.

“The current Soun of Ogbomoso and other traditional rulers have always emphasised ethical leadership, and we align fully with efforts to cleanse our community of such elements.”
