Notorious Bandit Commander, Kachalla Yellow, Killed In Zamfara
Corpse Dragged On The Road
A notorious bandit commander, Kachalla Sani Yellow, has reportedly been killed during a security operation in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Yellow, who was widely regarded as one of the most feared bandit leaders operating across Anka, Bukkuyum and Maru local government areas, was reportedly neutralised during a fierce gun battle after hunters and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force repelled an attack by armed bandits.
Security sources said the slain kingpin had been linked to several coordinated attacks on communities across North-West Nigeria and was particularly notorious for orchestrating violent assaults along the Anka–Bagega Road.
According to reports, the operation involved the Maiduguri Special Vigilantes, who were supporting ongoing counter-banditry operations in the area. Yellow was killed during the armed confrontation, marking one of the latest successes recorded by security forces and local vigilante groups in Zamfara.
Following the operation, his body was displayed to residents in Anka to confirm his death. Images showing his mutilated remains later surfaced on social media and circulated widely.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said the notorious bandit commander had indeed been killed.
The operation is part of intensified security offensives across the Anka–Bagega–Gummi corridor, where security personnel, working alongside local vigilante groups, have stepped up efforts to dismantle criminal gangs responsible for persistent attacks, killings and kidnappings.
