The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has disclosed that it has disbursed more than GH¢187.6 million to support 49,414 tertiary students under its Regular Students Loan and Students Loan Plus schemes.

The Fund said the disbursements form part of its efforts to improve access to tertiary education financing.

In a statement issued on Monday, July 6, the SLTF explained that the Regular Students Loan scheme has benefited 47,988 students, while the Students Loan Plus initiative has provided full fee-coverage support to 1,426 students, including over 600 pursuing legal education.

“To date, the Fund has disbursed GHS 170,493,187.50 under the Regular Students Loan package to 47,988 beneficiaries.

“An additional GHS 17,205,184.13 has been disbursed to 1,426 students including 610 law students, as full fee-coverage loans under the Students Loan Plus initiative, paid directly to their respective tertiary institutions,” the statement read in part.

The disclosure comes after the Trust announced that the deadline for the application for the 2025/26 academic year has been set at July 15.

The SLTF also urged applicants who are at various stages of the application process to complete and submit their applications before the deadline to facilitate timely processing and disbursement.

“As the Fund works to process and disburse to all remaining applicants for the academic year, prospective beneficiaries are encouraged to complete and submit their applications promptly to ensure a smooth processing experience and avoid potential last-minute system congestion,” the statement urged.
