The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that nominations for its national executive elections will officially open on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as part of preparations to elect new leaders at the constituency, regional and national levels.

The timetable, approved by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) at its meeting on August 4, was outlined in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 5.

According to the party, nominations for national executive positions will open at 7:00 a.m. on October 20 and close at 5:00 p.m. the following day. Aspirants are required to first submit applications through the party’s online portal before completing their nomination forms.

Successful applicants will have 14 days to complete the nomination process, with the filing of nomination forms scheduled for November 7 to 9 at the NDC national headquarters and via the party’s online platform.

The vetting of national executive aspirants will take place on November 12 and 13 at the party’s headquarters ahead of the elections.

The statement also outlined the roadmap for constituency executive elections. Nominations for constituency positions will open at 7:00 a.m. on September 15 and close at 5:00 p.m. on September 17. Aspirants must likewise begin the process by applying through the party’s online portal before filing their nomination forms.

Filing of constituency nominations has been scheduled for September 23 and 24, while vetting will be conducted between September 25 and 27. Appeals arising from the vetting process will be heard from September 29 to October 1.

The party has fixed October 24 and 25 for constituency executive elections, which will be held at designated centres nationwide.

The NDC said the timetable underscores its commitment to conducting transparent, credible and well-organised internal elections and urged all aspirants, executives and party members to adhere strictly to the outlined procedures and timelines as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
