Nana B Sets Sights on Top NPP Leadership Slot, Calls for Unity Ahead of 2028
The current National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman, citing duty, experience and a renewed commitment to reposition the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a statement to party executives, elders and members, Nana B said his 26‑year journey within the NPP — from polling station agent to national executive — has equipped him with the organisational depth and grassroots connection needed to strengthen the party’s structures.
“By the grace of God, and after twenty-six (26) years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he said.
Nana B traced his service from the 2000 elections in the then Manhyia Constituency through various leadership roles: TESCON President at UMaT and KNUST, Director of Events and Programmes of the National Youth Wing, National Youth Organiser, and Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
At the national level, he has served on the NPP’s National Communications Team, National Steering Committee, National Executive Committee, National Council, and played key roles on the 2020 Presidential Election Petition Legal Team, the 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams, and the Planning Committee for the 2025 National Delegates Conference.
He said his ambition is anchored on unity and a renewed determination to rebuild the party for electoral victory.
“My aspiration is anchored on the belief that with unity of purpose and renewed determination, we can reposition our party for victory in the 2028 general elections,” he stated.
Nana B appealed to party members for prayers, guidance and support as he seeks election as the NPP’s next National First Vice Chairman.
