Everton and Manchester United shared the spoils in an entertaining Premier League round three fixture that finished 2-2, with both sides trading blows throughout an eventful second half.

The visitors looked to have taken control when Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock just after the restart, converting from a Kobbie Mainoo assist in the 46th minute.

Everton responded well though, drawing level through TyriqueGeorge, who found the net with Hayden Hackney turning provider.

Manchester United regained the lead late on when Benjamin Šeško struck in the 88th minute, teed up by Luke Shaw, appearing to put the game beyond Everton’s reach.

However, the Toffees were not finished, snatching a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time in the 90+6th minute through Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The match was littered with cautions, with seven yellow cards shown across both teams, including bookings for Harry Maguire and Diogo Dalot late in proceedings. Both sides made full use of their substitutions as the game opened up in the closing stages.

Statistically, United shaded possession with 55 percent of the ball and edged the shot count, but Everton were more clinical when it mattered, matching their opponents goal for goal.

The result leaves both clubs sharing a point apiece as they continue to find their rhythm early in the new season.
