Lawyer Confirms Arrest Of DJ Chicken Arrested Over Viral Video On Seyi Tinubu

By Damilare Adeleye

A Nigerian lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, has claimed that controversial TikTok personality, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has been arrested following a viral video in which he made controversial remarks about Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

Stephen disclosed this in a video posted on his Instagram page on Thursday, alleging that the social media personality was apprehended in Ikeja, Lagos, and is currently being held at the Ikeja Police Headquarters.

According to the lawyer, the arrest may have involved operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), although he did not provide evidence to support the claim. He linked the alleged arrest to comments DJ Chicken made about Seyi Tinubu in a video that recently sparked widespread reactions on social media.

“DJ Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja and is currently at the police headquarters, but I am very sure the DSS is involved,” Stephen said.

The lawyer appealed to the entertainer’s supporters, well-wishers and persons with access to the Presidency to intervene, expressing concern over DJ Chicken’s continued detention.

Stephen, who described the TikTok personality as someone he has mentored and supported over the years, said the entertainer should be shown compassion, adding that he considers him part of his personal contribution to helping young Nigerians.

“Please, fans and well-wishers, and those close to the Presidency should help. DJ Chicken is not fully stable; we are just managing him. He is my personal project and part of my contribution to society,” he said.

He further pleaded with the authorities to forgive the entertainer, assuring that efforts would be made to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

“I don’t know what else to do. They should please forgive him,” he added.

DJ Chicken recently came under intense public criticism after a video surfaced online where he threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu, if the president wins the 2027 presidential election.

Following the backlash, the content creator released another video apologising for his comments. In the apology, he explained that the controversial clip was created to attract online engagement and increase his earnings as a content creator.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services had officially confirmed the arrest.
