Lagos Governorship Candidate, Rhodes-Vivour Mourns As Mother Dies
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has expressed grief following the death of his mother, Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour.
The 2023 Labour Party governorship flag-bearer announced his mother’s passing in a statement shared on X on Monday.
“With sadness in our hearts and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the call to glory of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (Nee Waboso),” he wrote.
“A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. The epitome of Love. She will be sorely missed. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”
Nkechi played active role during the 2023 election campaign particularly in mobilising support for her son.
In the aftermath of the election, she alleged widespread vote buying and accused security agencies of failing to apprehend the perpetrators.
