Residents of Tanoso in the Kwadaso Constituency have been handed renewed hope following a major breakthrough in efforts to complete the stalled Tanoso Anglican School Astroturf project.

The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Hon. Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, has successfully engaged key stakeholders, culminating in an agreement for the contractor to return to site in the first week of September 2026 to resume construction works.

The breakthrough was reached during a strategic meeting involving the MP, the contractor for the project, Nana Amoako, and the Municipal Chief Executive for the Kwadaso Municipality, Hon. Eric Assibey.

The meeting focused on resolving outstanding issues that had delayed the completion of the community sports facility.

This latest engagement follows an earlier meeting between Hon. Prof. Nyarko and the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, Mr. Harry Yamson, where discussions centered on the status of the Astroturf project.

Construction of the facility began in January 2024 but was halted due to financial constraints and other logistical challenges.

Following extensive deliberations, stakeholders reached a consensus for the contractor to mobilize back to the project site in September, signaling a fresh start for the long‑delayed initiative.

The development has been hailed as a testament to the power of collaboration and dialogue in driving community development.

Hon. Prof. Kingsley Nyarko and Hon. Eric Assibey reaffirmed their commitment to working together to ensure that projects that improve the lives of residents are completed without unnecessary delays.

The leaders also expressed appreciation to the people of Tanoso, particularly the youth, for their patience, understanding, and unwavering support throughout the period the project remained stalled.

They assured the community that every effort would be made to complete the Astroturf and provide a modern sporting facility that will promote youth development, recreation, and community engagement.

Officials present at the meeting included officers from the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, the Assembly Member for the Tanoso Electoral Area, Hon. Kwabena Adusi Poku, officials from the Office of the Member of Parliament, and representatives of the contractor’s office.

With the contractor expected to return to site in early September, expectations are high that the Tanoso Anglican School Astroturf project will soon be completed to serve the sporting and recreational needs of the community.
