Governor Ademola Adeleke and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has secured victory in his first polling unit as results from Saturday’s governorship election begin to emerge.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Accord Party winner of Polling Unit 026, Ward 5, in Osogbo Local Government Area.

According to the result announced at the polling unit, Accord Party polled 57 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC), which secured 43 votes.

The development comes as results from several polling units across Osun State continue to trickle in following the conclusion of voting.

The election has been largely conducted across the state, although there have been reports of alleged intimidation, vote-buying and other incidents of electoral violence in some areas.

Adeleke, who is seeking a second term in office, had earlier expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious in the election.

The final outcome of the election will be determined after the collation of results from all polling units and the official declaration by INEC.
