I’ve Spent Over N15 Million On Cancer Treatment – Actor Ikechukwu Nweke Appeals For Help
Nollywood Actor and director Ikechukwu Nweke has made an emotional appeal to the public for financial assistance over his battle with colon cancer.
In a candid Instagram post, he disclosed that his medical expenses have surpassed ₦15 million over the past few months.
Nweke detailed the grueling nature of his treatment, which includes chemotherapy, radiotherapy, multiple scans, and extended hospital stays. He acknowledged the immense support of his family and colleagues, including Destiny Etiko, Ebele Okaro, Lizzy Gold, and Uche Nancy, who have stood by him spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
The actor revealed that his doctors have urged him to proceed with the next phase of treatment immediately to maximize his chances of recovery. However, the rising costs have become overwhelming.
Appealing to the public, he stressed that every contribution, prayer, and shared video could make a significant difference in his fight for survival.
He wrote:
“For months now, I have been fighting cancer with everything I have. It has been a painful journey filled with countless hospital visits, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, tests, scans, medications and emotional battles.
“So far, over ₦15 million has been spent on my treatment. My family has sacrificed beyond words, and I remain deeply grateful to everyone who has stood by me.
“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming.
“Today, I am humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life. I believe that with God’s mercy and the kindness of people, I will overcome this.”
