Isaac Fayose Tackles Oluremi Tinubu Over Appeal To Davido, Burna Boy, Asake

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Media personality Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has criticized First Lady Oluremi Tinubu over her recent appeal to Afrobeat stars Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake to use their wealth to help the poor.

Mrs Tinubu had urged the musicians to set up foundations and contribute to poverty alleviation, citing Senegalese-American singer Akon as an example.

In a counter-response, Fayose questioned why the First Lady would call on entertainers while governors, particularly those in the All Progressives Congress (APC), are not being held accountable.

He asked why state governors cannot set aside N500 million monthly to support the poor in their states. He also referenced the recent purchase of SUVs for APC Women Leaders, questioning the priorities of the government.

He said:
“I disagree with you that Davido, Burna Boy and Asake should use the money they spend on luxurious cars for charity in Nigeria. What about our Governors? What are they doing with public funds? Why can’t APC state Governors set aside N500 million every month to support poor people in their respective states?

Why did you ask them to purchase SUVs for APC Women Leaders while many Nigerians across the country continue to struggle with poverty?.”
