Inter secured a 2-1 victory over Juventus in their Club Friendly encounter on Saturday, overcoming their Italian rivals in a competitive preseason contest.
The match produced an entertaining opening half, with Inter taking the lead in the 20th minute through Federico Dimarco.
The defender finished an attacking move involving Ange-Yoan Bonny to put his side ahead.
Juventus controlled a larger share of possession as the game progressed, eventually recording 59 per cent of the ball compared with Inter’s 41 per cent.
However, Inter remained dangerous in front of goal and created more opportunities throughout the match.
The Italian giants finished with 15 attempts compared with Juventus’ eight, while both sides registered four shots on target. Inter also had the advantage from corner kicks, earning five compared with Juventus’ two.
The second half saw both teams make several substitutions as their coaches used the friendly to assess different players and combinations ahead of the new season.
Inter doubled their advantage in the 62nd minute when Andy Diouf found the net after coming on as a substitute.
Juventus responded in the closing stages, with Fabio Conceição scoring in the 85th minute following an assist from Fabio Miretti.
Despite Juventus’ late effort, Inter held on to claim the victory.
The result gives Inter a positive boost during their preseason preparations, while Juventus will take lessons from the defeat as they continue building their squad and fine-tuning their tactics before competitive football resumes.
