Mikel Arteta has moved to calm concerns over his future at Arsenal, insisting that he remains committed to the Premier League champions despite entering the final year of his current contract.

The Spanish manager, who took charge of Arsenal in 2019, guided the club to their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.

His success was expected to lead to a new contract, but there has been little movement publicly regarding an extension.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s Community Shield meeting with Manchester City, Arteta said supporters should remain confident about his continued presence at the club.

Arsenal were also linked with high-profile targets such as Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior, although neither deal materialised.

Despite increased spending by several Premier League rivals, Arteta remains confident in Arsenal’s ability to defend their title.

He said the club must continue operating according to its own strategy rather than attempting to match the spending power and structures of other teams.
