GFA approves 14 venues for 2026/27 Ghana Premier League
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved 14 venues for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League after inspections and clearance by its Club Licensing Department.
The approved list, released on 17 August 2026, includes the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, Accra Sports Stadium and the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Other venues cleared to host league matches are Duns Park in Bibiani, Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Sambreboi, TnA Stadium in Tarkwa, Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem and AAK II Sports Arena.
The list is completed by Tuba Astro Turf, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Golden City Park in Berekum, Nana Boamah Darko II Park in Kukurantumi and Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
However, several clubs are yet to secure approval for their proposed home grounds.
Aduana FC’s Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa is not included on the approved list, leaving the club waiting for further clearance or potentially having to nominate an alternative venue before the start of the campaign.
Young Apostles are facing a similar situation, with the Wenchi Sports Stadium also absent from the list.
Newly promoted All Blacks’ proposed venue in Swedru and Vision FC’s Nii Adjei Kraku II venue have likewise not received approval at this stage.
The GFA’s venue clearance comes ahead of the new Premier League season, which is scheduled to begin between 4 and 7 September 2026.
The 30-week campaign is expected to run until the weekend of 28-31 May 2027.
The association has also confirmed that midweek dates will be used exclusively for outstanding fixtures, with the aim of maintaining a balanced and orderly competition schedule throughout the season.
