Galatasaray Target Nwaneri in Bid to Strengthen Attack

By Okiki Oluwasegun

Galatasaray have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri as the Turkish champions look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The Turkish club is said to have made an official proposal for the 19-year-old midfielder, who has continued to attract attention from clubs across Europe following his development at Arsenal.

Turkish journalist Haluk Yürekli revealed that Galatasaray have opened discussions with Arsenal regarding a possible transfer for Nwaneri.

The report suggests the Turkish side sees the England youth international as a player capable of adding creativity and attacking quality to their squad.

Nwaneri has been regarded as one of Arsenal’s promising young talents since breaking into the first-team setup. His technical ability and attacking versatility have helped him attract interest from several clubs, despite his relatively limited experience at senior level.

The midfielder recently committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new contract with the Premier League club.

That agreement could make negotiations more complicated if Galatasaray attempt to convince Arsenal to allow him to leave.

Galatasaray are reportedly keen to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes and have identified Nwaneri as one of their targets.

The club is also believed to be exploring other attacking options as it prepares for another competitive campaign.

A move to Turkey would give Nwaneri the opportunity to experience football outside England and potentially link up with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasaray.

However, with Arsenal having recently secured his future, it remains to be seen whether the London club will consider the proposal or keep the highly-rated youngster.
