Franck Kessié Set for Juventus Move After Choosing Serie A Return
Franck Kessié is edging closer to a move to Juventus, with the Ivorian midfielder reportedly determined to return to Serie A despite interest from his current Saudi club, Al-Ahli.
Kessié, who is currently a free agent, has reportedly reached an understanding with Juventus over a potential three-year contract.
The proposed agreement would see him earn around €4.5 million per season, in addition to a signing-on bonus.
The package is believed to be lower than what he could have received by remaining in the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Ahli have made efforts to convince the midfielder to remain with the club, but Kessié has apparently made his preference clear.
The former Barcelona player wants to join Juventus and work under manager Luciano Spalletti.
However, the transfer is not yet complete. Juventus must first create space in their midfield and ensure they can register the experienced midfielder.
Several players, including Teun Koopmeiners, Fabio Miretti and Arthur, have reportedly been identified as possible departures as the club seeks to reduce its midfield numbers.
Because Kessié is a free agent, Juventus could still register him after the transfer window closes, meaning there is no immediate deadline forcing the club to complete the move.
The 29-year-old is reportedly maintaining his fitness through individual training while waiting for Juventus to resolve the squad situation.
If the club successfully clears the required space, Kessié could soon begin a new chapter in Turin under Spalletti.
