Expulsion Is Not Enough For The Brutal Bullies Of Igbinedion Education Centre As Nigeria Police Launch A Criminal Hunt

The Edo State Police Command has officially declared that the expulsion of two students from the prestigious Igbinedion Education Centre in Benin City will not shield them from criminal prosecution. Despite the private institution’s swift move to sever ties with the teenagers following a viral video of a violent assault, law enforcement authorities have confirmed that a full scale criminal investigation is now underway.
The state’s police spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, released a firm statement on Saturday making it clear that the school’s internal disciplinary actions are secondary to the requirements of the law. Commissioner of Police Monday Agbonika has already dispatched a divisional officer to the campus to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident that sparked national outrage over the weekend.
While the school management maintains that the expulsion serves as a definitive disciplinary measure, the police insist that the perpetrators must be held accountable within the judicial system. Officials stated that the arrests will be handled in accordance with the legal provisions governing the ages of the suspects. The police are currently calling on the public to provide any further evidence or information that could assist in ensuring the attackers face the full weight of Nigerian law.
