Former Black Stars midfielder Charles Taylor has alleged that he was left stranded in the United States after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) failed to fulfil commitments made to him during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Taylor claimed that GFA President Kurt Okraku invited him to the tournament and assured him that, as a former national team player and football legend, he would receive the necessary support throughout his stay.

However, the former midfielder alleged that the association failed to provide his return ticket and other promised assistance, leaving him without the financial means to travel back to Ghana.

Taylor further claimed that he relied on the support of individuals to obtain a ticket to watch Ghana’s World Cup match against England after the expected assistance from the football authorities did not come through.

According to him, attempts to seek help from GFA President Kurt Okraku and Sports Minister Kofi Adams were unsuccessful, as his calls allegedly went unanswered.

The former player expressed disappointment over the situation, questioning the support given to former national team players who contributed to Ghana’s football history.

The Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation have not yet issued any public response to the allegations.
