Renowned Takoradi-based radio presenter and musician, Evangelist Vincent Nyarko, has recounted the painful circumstances that led to the death of his daughter a year ago, attributing her demise to alleged negligence on the part of a health facility.

Marking the first anniversary of his daughter’s passing today, July 22, 2026, the broadcaster took to social media to share an emotional tribute and narrate what he says happened on that fateful day.

In a heartbreaking account, Evangelist Nyarko revealed that he had taken his daughter to the hospital at exactly 7:21 a.m. that Tuesday morning for medical care.

According to him, it was not until about 4:35 p.m. that a doctor conducted a laboratory test, which showed that his daughter’s haemoglobin (HB) level had dropped to 6.8, requiring an urgent blood transfusion.

The situation, he said, took a tragic turn after he left the doctor’s office and returned to the ward.

“After speaking with the doctor, I returned to the ward to check on my daughter, only to find her bleeding profusely,” he recounted.

He alleged that the bleeding was caused by a nurse who had attempted to set up an intravenous infusion but ruptured his daughter’s vein in the process.

Alarmed by the development, Evangelist Nyarko said he quickly rushed back to inform the doctor.

“I quickly rushed to the doctor to report what had happened. I told him, the patient you said has low blood is now bleeding because of what the nurse did,” he said.

Following his report, the doctor is said to have immediately followed him to the ward and made an urgent request for fresh whole blood.

In a desperate attempt to save his daughter, the father said he called his brothers to come and donate blood. After screening, one of them, popularly known as BlaQ Mic, was found eligible to donate.

But what happened next, according to him, was the most painful part of the ordeal.

He claims that when they proceeded to the laboratory to begin the donation process around 7:00 p.m., the laboratory technician told them that the facility does not take blood donations at that time.

“He told us they don’t take blood at 7 p.m. I pleaded and begged, but he insisted,” Evangelist Nyarko narrated to MrImpactful.com.

Left with no other option, he said he was forced to rush from one health facility to another in search of blood, eventually securing some at the Kwesimintsim Hospital.

Tragically, by the time he returned to the hospital with the blood, his daughter had passed away.

A year on, the broadcaster says the pain of losing his daughter under such circumstances is still fresh, as he calls for improved professionalism and urgency in Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.
