Education Abroad Has Been A Family Tradition For Generations – Davido

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has opened up about his family’s long-standing tradition of pursuing education abroad, revealing that the practice dates back to his grandfather’s generation.

Speaking in a recent interview, the singer explained that his grandfather, a former senator, ensured that most of his children were sent to the United States for their studies.

Davido noted that his father attended university in Kentucky, while his mother later travelled to the US to earn a master’s degree.

He also shared that his parents first met in London, highlighting his family’s multicultural background.

He said:
“My grandfather was a senator, and most of his children were sent to America for their education. My dad went to university in Kentucky.”
