Popular Nigerian comedian and actor Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has shared a blunt piece of advice for Nigerians.

In a recent post on his Instagram page, he warned citizens not to die for the country, stating that they are more valuable alive than as a trending hashtag.

Basketmouth noted that a trending hashtag would possibly last only a few days, implying that the country may not honour such a sacrifice.

He wrote:
“Whatever you do in this life, don’t die for Nigeria.

You’re more valuable alive than as a trending hashtag.

A trending hashtag that might possibly last a few days.”
