Daniel Daga opened his goal account for the season as Molde FK claimed an impressive 4-2 victory over KFUM Oslo in a Norwegian Eliteserien clash on Sunday.

The Nigerian midfielder found the back of the net late in the first half, scoring the equaliser to make it 1-1 before the break and helping his side regain momentum after falling behind. It marked Daga’s first league goal of the campaign in just his second appearance.

The 19-year-old started the encounter and delivered a composed display in midfield before making way in the 69th minute.

His contribution proved important as Molde took control in the second half, scoring three more goals to secure all three points on the road.

The victory lifts Molde to fifth place in the Norwegian top-flight standings with 23 points, strengthening their push for a higher finish as the season progresses.

Daga’s return to competitive action follows a difficult period away from the pitch. Earlier this year, he was cleared by Norway’s Court of Appeal after successfully challenging a previous conviction in a sexual assault case.

The ruling overturned an earlier judgment that had resulted in a six-month prison sentence and an indefinite suspension from first-team activities at Molde.

With the legal proceedings now behind him, the former Flying Eagles midfielder has resumed his football career and will be eager to build on his encouraging performance.

His goal against KFUM Oslo could provide a timely confidence boost as he looks to establish himself as a regular starter for Molde during the remainder of the season.

The performance also serves as a positive milestone for the young Nigerian, who will hope to maintain his form and continue contributing to Molde’s ambitions in the Norwegian league.
