Daga Extends Scoring Streak In Molde’s Dramatic Draw
Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga continued his impressive run of form by finding the net once again for Molde in an entertaining 3-3 draw against Sarpsborg 08 in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday.
Playing at the Aker Stadion, Molde looked on course for victory after taking the lead on three occasions, but Sarpsborg repeatedly responded to ensure both sides settled for a point in a thrilling contest.
Daga made his mark in the second half when he rose highest at the far post to head home from close range following a well-delivered corner.
The 19-year-old capitalized on a flick-on inside the penalty area to register Molde’s third goal of the afternoon.
The strike continued the youngster’s recent scoring streak after he also got on the scoresheet in Molde’s previous league outing against KFUM-Kameratene Oslo.
His latest effort means he has now scored twice in his last three league appearances, highlighting his growing influence in the team.
Widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s brightest midfield prospects, Daga has been earning regular opportunities with the Norwegian club through his energetic displays and maturity beyond his age.
His recent goals have further strengthened his reputation as a player capable of contributing in both defensive and attacking situations.
Despite Daga’s contribution, Molde were unable to protect their advantage as Sarpsborg fought back to secure a dramatic draw.
The Nigerian was substituted with 16 minutes remaining as the home side searched for a late winner that never came.
Although Molde missed the chance to claim all three points, Daga’s continued goalscoring form will provide encouragement for both the club and Nigerian football fans as the teenager continues his development in Norway.
