Former Nigeria U-20 international Chinyere Kalu has completed a move to Spanish women’s football side FC Badalona as she continues her development in Europe.

The 20-year-old midfielder joins the Liga F outfit from fellow Spanish club Levante UD, adding another chapter to her growing career in the country’s top women’s league.

Kalu already has experience competing at the highest level of Spanish women’s football. She previously featured for Real Betis, where she made nine appearances during the 2024-25 campaign.

Her time with the club provided valuable exposure to the demands of professional football in Spain.

The midfielder also has international experience with Nigeria. Kalu was part of the Falconets squad that represented the country at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Her involvement with the national youth team highlighted her potential and helped provide a pathway into senior-level club football.

Her arrival is expected to strengthen Badalona’s midfield options ahead of the new Liga F season. The Catalan club will begin its 2026-27 campaign on the road, with a difficult opening fixture against Athletic Bilbao scheduled for August 30.

For Kalu, the transfer represents another opportunity to establish herself in one of Europe’s competitive women’s leagues.

Having already experienced football with Real Betis and Levante, she will now look to make a significant impact at Badalona and continue building on her progress since representing Nigeria at youth level.
