Ben Chilwell rejoins Crystal Palace on permanent deal
Crystal Palace have re-signed England international Ben Chilwell on a permanent deal from RC Strasbourg.
The defender, 29, returns to Selhurst Park having won the FA Cup while on loan with the Eagles during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
“It’s amazing to be back,” said Chilwell. “It’s nice to see some familiar faces, and I’m just really excited to get back in, see the boys and the fans – and get going again.”
The Conference League winners were able to complete the signing of Chilwell after Tuesday’s 23:00 BST transfer deadline after submitting a deal sheet to the Premier League.
Chilwell – who has been capped 21 times by England – has previously played for Chelsea, Leicester City and Huddersfield Town.
He spent last season with Strasbourg after joining the Ligue 1 side from Chelsea in September 2025.
“With his experience and quality, Ben played a huge part in us winning our first trophy last year,” added Palace chairman Steve Parish.
“It is terrific to welcome him back to Crystal Palace. We hope he can help us to further success.”
