President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner whose loyalty, wisdom and commitment have contributed significantly to the administration.
Tinubu, in a birthday message posted on his official X account on Tuesday, said Shettima’s life had been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice to Nigeria and worthy causes.
The President extended his congratulations to Shettima’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates, while commending the Vice-President’s contributions to Borno State and the country.
Tinubu described Shettima as more than a trusted ally and colleague, noting that his record of public service had demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion.
He particularly highlighted Shettima’s career in banking and his subsequent political service as governor of Borno State before becoming Vice-President of Nigeria.
According to the President, Shettima has remained committed to national unity and progress in both his previous and current positions.
Tinubu also praised the Vice-President for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Shettima has provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration among the Federal Government and the sub-nationals,” Tinubu said.
The President further commended Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance and democratic institutions, saying his commitment to dialogue and consultation had helped strengthen good governance.
Tinubu said the Vice-President’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty had remained invaluable to the administration.
He also expressed appreciation to Shettima for his continued support and partnership in the administration’s efforts to fulfil its promises to Nigerians.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” the President said.
Tinubu prayed for divine guidance, protection, wisdom and good health for the Vice-President, wishing him many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
